WHO DOESN'T LOVE TRAVELING?

Assalamualaikum & Hi everyone! So, I did a survey last week through my instagram and my twitter asking if I should create a new blog posting about my endless travel stories on HOW TO SAVE YOUR MONEY WHILE TRAVELING! Well, since I'm writing this right now, it is obvious that most of you guys answered YES!! THANK YOUUUU!💓

p/s: Those who answered "TAK PAYAH LA BUANG MASA" (accept those yg DM saying it was an accident, you guys hit the wrong button 😂) I got ma eyes on ya!! 👀 👀 hehe kk sokay not everyone enjoys reading.. (I don't! 😛)

So, lets start with WHY I am willing to waste my time writing this blog?

1.  I know people who are in my age right now are so eager to travel, either with family or friends. Some might say "Oh, travel dengan family boleh la save duit, parents yg bayarkan.. LOL true for some BUT.. of course you still wanna save money too right despite using ur own money or ur parent's.Unless you are like soooooo rich 💰💰💰 (which i'm not) then DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. DO NOT CONTINUE READING. IMMEDIATELY CLOSE THIS BLOG, NOW!! 😂 HAHAHA! DAH KELUAR BELUM? 😪😫 ok lets continue...

2. Because my family & I LOVEEEE to travel, especially abroad. (so mmg banyak pakai duit & we will still try to save on ANYTHING THAT WE CAN) Don't ask why we prefer abroad, just that my dad prefers to travel outside Malaysia. He feels that he can get away with all the "serabutness" of working & idk just get away from everything lah. And due to some history back then (OUT OF TOPIC SUDAHHH) However, I still travel dalam Malaysia okay (#supportlocal) because I just love the beautiful nature, beaches, sea etc. (NOW I FEEL LIKE WRITING ABOUT MY FOREVER FAVORITE HOBBY : SCUBA DIVING ❤) but later lah.. one at a time yea? 😉

Now, I have been to quite a number of places (Alhamdulillah for the rezeki, time & health given by Allah SWT). As I can recall (by seeing my previous instagram post) these are the places that I have visited:

Before 2016:

Langkawi | Cameron Highlands | Kelantan | Korea | Gold Coast, Australia | Melbourne, Australia | Hong Kong | Hanoi, Vietnam | China | Pulau Redang, Terengganu | Pulau Perhentian, Terengganu | Turkey | & a few more time kecik so I don't really remember.

2016:

Semporna, Sabah | A'Famosa, Melaka | Batu Pahat, Johor | Ipoh, Perak | Sungai Chilling | Taman Eco Rimba, KL | India |

2017:

Krabi, Thailand | Penang | Sungkai, Perak | Bukit Tinggi, Indonesia | Turkey & Saudi Arabia (umrah ziarah) |

So yeap, I won't say we travel A LOT (bcs i know ramai lagi yg dh travel lagi banyak lg) but i can say we are a frequent traveller la. Mostly, bila travel I'll usually go w my family. Only Krabi je pergi dgn kwn2 tu pun because dh besar & my parents dh mula trust my judgement. So if nk tny budget for travelling or itinerary, I can only share with you for:

1. Krabi, Thailand

2. Penang 

3. Cameron Highlands, Pahang

4. Sapporo, Japan

OK! FINALLY, BACK TO OUR MAIN TOPIC... 'SAVING FOR TRAVEL'

So, out of all those places stated above, almost ALL yg I go overseas semuanya during WINTER SEASON ❄⛄ Sadly, belum rezeki (but I hope my upcoming trip to Japan will happen, aamiinnn) I haven't had the chance to experience snowing weather, as in time snow tgh turun. Selalu pegi mcm snow dh turun so pijak snow main2 gitu je or snow belum turun (just cold wind). So, doakan lah nxt trip ni dpt merasa.. hehe in shaa Allah. 

And when we travel during winter season...

First thing we have to face is....Beg akan berat. There will be no such thing as "packing light" sebab you'll need your full set thermal/long john (baju lapisan dalam to maintain body heat) then your winter jacket je pun dh berat. If yg jenis bubble2 tu mmg la ringan tp haa nk kepuk dlm bag tu masha Allah brother.. makan space la senang cerita. Then socks.. sekali pakai 2/3 lapis (unless now dh ada yg thicken socks for winter) and tu belum dgn scarf tebal (muffler), sweater, that headband you wear to cover your ears dr beku.. mcm2 serious! 😶😶 lagi sejuk, lagi banyak layer, lagi bertambah lah muatan dlm bag. So as you can see, memang banyak expenditure la kt sini. Duit nk set ground travel tu satu, flight ticket lg.. now nk spend for WINTER CLOTHING! Hehe ok lek lu, sap kok lu (I don't mean it literally k pls guys 🙇). Hence... HERE'S WHERE I COME IN *ACAH2 TERER* IN GIVING ADVICE ON HOW YOU CAN SAVE YOUR MONEY. 

Very recently, after I came back from umrah ziarah, my aunt was preparing to go to Turkey w her daughter (credit to my Mak Ngah & my cousin Aqilah 💓). So at that time we have already bought our flight tickets to Japan. For ground arrangements, I asked for a friend's help since he is studying there & he used to be a tour guide in Japan during semester break).

So here is TIPS #1 Choosing travel package set by travel agencies will always cost you more. Why? I won't say much on this because I don't really know the details but you can try to compare this by yourself. Unless, if the place you are planning to go is a Non-Muslim country & it can be a bit hard to find Halal food (my family is very very very particular in the halal-ness of a restaurant & the food they are serving) or myb the country you are going is not an English spoken country (difficulties due to language barriers) then I can say going with a travel package will be a bit more easier since everything has been settled for us. Otherwise, TRY TO EXPLORE or BRING YOUR OWN FOOD FROM HOME & COOK 🍲! (don't let me start on food yg senang bwk or allowed to bring. NOTE that certain countries doesn't allow certain kind of food. GOOGLE IT!)

Allahu, melencong lagi.. OKAY BACK TO WHERE I STARTED..

So, I met my aunt and she told me that she bought A FEW WINTER JACKETS that are SUPER CHEAP!!! And guest where she bought it? BUNDLE. Yes people, B.U.N.D.L.E shop. I know, I know.. I too have that look on me when she mentioned bundle. (I'm sorry but tbh, all this while I always have this perception that a bundle store is like alll the unwanted clothes that you dnt want anymore but you also dnt want to throw it away.. so you sell it to the bundle shop and they re-sell it to other people. I mean, I was only concerned about the hygiene of it. PLEASE JANGAN SALAH FAHAM 🙏). Ok so wtv you are thinking about me right now, WHAT I WANNA SAY IS.. those winter jackets she bought from the bundle was like freaking RM5/RM10. WAIT WHAT??!!! AND it looks NICE AS IF IT IS A BRAND NEW JACKET!! Seriously, if you know how choosy I am and how picky I am in my clothing & when I buy almost everything.. I AM SUPER CHOOSY. So, Here I can really say this winter jacket is like brand new! Just that myb a few buttons had gone missing or there's a slight defect on it. JUST THAT! So, apa lagi? There goes my #winterclothinghunt at bundle stores!

#winterclothinghunt STARTS!

So TIPS #2 Buy your winter jackets at bundle stores! 

The first bundle store I went to was (search in google) bundle preloved - winter & outdoor or IG : bundle_winter_outdoor which is located in Jalan Kebun, Klang. You guys just google or look through the IG I don't have to attach the pictures here. So what did we bought here??

WINTER BOOTS!! Best part is...IT IS NOT EVEN SECOND HAND. IT'S A BRAND NEW BOOTS AND IT'S CHEAP! (compared to other winter boots at the mall/branded shops which cost around RM300+) How much is my cheap? RM180 (for my dad's) and RM160 (for my mum's). Considering it's a proper winter boots (with thermal inner lining & it's waterproof w rubber sole).For winter jackets, well in this shop it clearly states that the price of their goods starts from RM50. So the cheapest you can get here is RM50 and some might go beyond that.. BUT WAIT!! Don't waste your money jussssttt yet.. let's move on to the second bundle store 🏃

The second bundle store that I went to was (search in google) OTTO BUNDLE or you can check out the website : www.zenithottousedcloth.com and this store have a few branches which are:

1. Seksyen 25, Shah Alam.

2. Reko Sentral, Kajang.

3. Kepala Batas, Penang.

4. Seberang Perai Tengan, Penang.

5. Prai, Penang.

So here comes the best part.... *second drumrolls* THE GOODS HERE ARE SOLD BASED ON PER KG. YES PEOPLE, PER KG. And how much per kg? Since we only shopped for winter jacket, so for winter jackets, it is only RM20 per kg and THAT'S INSANE!! Okay i'm just gonna skip to the part where I bought 2 winter jackets + 1 for my sister (we bought the bubbly type winter jackets) and it only cost us around RM54 for 3 winter jackets!! My mom on the other side, bought her's the day before (2 leather jackets) it's pure leather guys + 1 bubbly winter jacket (for my dad) and it only cost them around RM64!!! 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱 *faints* Please do the math and lets try to figure out how can the number be so damn small!! Adik i akan ckp "LAWAK HABAS LAH??!!!" 😝😝😝 (it's a family joke idk if you get it but k move on)

And that doesn't ends here. OK fine.. the bundle stores ends here but my story is not finished yet!!!

So, boots sudah, winter jackets pun sudah.. BUT! Boots td for my parents je. I STILL NEED TO FIND MY BOOTS! oh, lupa nak bgtau, Sapporo's weather are predicted to be super cold with -5/-10 degree celc. Hence why ktrg pergi carik winter jackets & boots sebab mmg everywhere will be covered by snow!!! YAAAYYY! hehe.. okay back to our #winterclothinghunt, for this next place, I need to credit my mom & dad (they'll read this trust me 😏) because they are the one who came up with the idea *initially* to hunt for winter clothes at.... SPORTS DIRECT! (specifically at Subang Jaya since I told them Sports Direct in SJ is bigger since subang pny mcm gudang)

So, Sports Direct (I believe everyone knows this place), they have branches too. Nearest to me is in Tesco Bukit Tinggi, Klang and we also went to Subang Jaya branch. If you don't know (you will after reading my blog 😀) Sports Direct all over the country will normally have sales going on THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. It's like ALL YEAR LONG. Jarang masuk Sports Direct tp xde sale. Serious talk peeps! But, in Subang Jaya, what makes it special is that they have Level 1 floor which is like a reject shop where they are letting go of all the defective goods; some minor defects (e.g. color fades/spots of oil etc.) and some major defects (e.g. different sizes (left &right) for a pair of shoes, torn, broken zip etc.). BUT for their shoes, not everything they are letting go is a defective ones. For like sports shoes, boots, casual, they are letting it go at a VERY SUPERB INSANE CHEAP PRICE because those shoes are out of season (myb it's from 2015/2016 stocks) and they just wanna let everything go hence the very superb insane cheap price! 

So, what i bought here? BOOTS of course!! It's fully leather, high cut boots, rubber sole and it's a FIRETRAP brand (Sports Direct is well known for Karrimor or Firetrap brands - says my BIL) and guest how much it cost me????

The price is insane! 

OKAAYYY.. baru nk suruh teka tbe2 gmba dh ada price tag. LOL. So YES! I bought my boots for only RM89! 😆 and worst! The black, fully leather, rubber sole, FIRETRAP boots is only RM25!!!! SERIOUS SH**!! (I know I still can't brain this). However, I did not buy the black one because the shoe sole doesn't really grip as compared to the one i bought and I'm scared if I walk on the snow, it'll be slippery. IF TAK MEMANG DH BELI YG 25 HENGGET JE!!! 😭😭😭 Sizes? There are a lottt of sizes there. They divided their racks according to size. Go and spend half day in the store you wont even realise it! And to those who loves to buy branded T-shirts (e.g. NIKE, Adidas, Everlast etc.) They are selling all their t-shirts and jersey as low as RM25+. If you guys beli dkt kedai NIKE sndiri I know it'll be so much more expensive than that! All those dri-fit shirts... haishhh JUST GO AND GET IT LAH. *stress everything murah* 🙇

So that's the 1st floor. Ground floor? Okay, this is TIPS #3 For Sports Direct normal items, I suggest you guys to go to Sports Direct branches that operates inside Tesco building. Why? Because, I don't know until when will the promotion last, but any Sports Direct who operates inside Tesco building, in corporation with Tesco, they are giving you an extra 10% DISCOUNT on their selected items! In other words, if you buy those things dkt Sports Direct SJ, (for barang2 yg ada jugak dkt Sports Direct Tesco) the same item will be given an additional 10% off if you beli dkt Sports Direct Tesco. Haaa yg ni xjanji la sampai bila sale but do look out & compare2 lah bila nak membeli tu.

*I should be given a token for promoting their sales like gila2 LOL. Also to the bundle stores I mentioned.. but then mmg dh ramai tulis blog pasal those bundles so its okay. Sharing is caring y'alls! 💖

So ALHAMDULILLAH SYUKUR YA ALLAH. Habis sudah satu blog ni pasal barang2 murah ESPECIALLY FOR WINTER TRAVELLING. I don't hope much ( nak jd pemes jauh sekali ) but do spread the word because I just want to help others save their money. Almaklumlah, sekarang apa je xmahal? So we need to try save up on basically EVERYTHING. In shaa Allah, yang baik dtg nya dr Allah, yg buruk dtgnya dr diri saya sndiri.

Additional TIPS #4 Send your winter jackets for dry clean! Since we bought our winter jackets from the bundle stores & we still want to stay hygiene (despite we only wear those jackets for the outer most layer) if you are very particular, just send them for dry clean then they are ready to be use! WE ARE SAVING A LOT HERE! 💰💰💰
